MCD/Fun Fun Fun Fest CONTEST!

Okay kids, this is huge! Thanks to the generosity of Transmission Entertainment, the folks behind the Fun Fun Fun Fest, you have a chance to win ONE PAIR OF 2-DAY PASSES to the festival! That’s right, you heard correct. I’m not even going to the show and I’m giving away tickets! I’m either really nice or really stupid (don’t answer that).

The contest and rules are as follows:

  • Enter to win by submitting your interpretation of any Murder City Devil song as a photo or graphic illustration. An uncreative example of this would be taking a picture of a “broken glass” or a picture of a “field of fire” (please do not submit any images of fields on fire). I now have opened the contest to photographic OR graphic design submissions.
  • I am looking for creativity first and foremost. Think about what the song’s about, not just the title. Be original and have fun fun fun with this.
  • Please submit ONE jpeg image per email address, no larger than 1mb.
  • Do not use any copyrighted images or anybody else's work. The image has to be something that you physically shot and created.
  • Put the name of the song that you're illustrating in the email subject line. Also include your full name, full address, and phone number in the body of the email.
  • I reserve the right to put any images on MurderCityDevils.net
  • Do not submit photos of anything illegal.
  • The deadline for submission is 5:00pm (PST) on Friday, October 12, 2007. Anything sent after that will not be considered.
  • The winner will be notified by phone or email. If I can’t get a hold of you within 2 days, then the tickets will go to the next runner up.
  • If you win, Transmission Entertainment or MurderCityDevils.net is not responsible for any accidents or mishaps on your way to the show, at the show, or after the show.
  • The winner is responsible for getting to the festival, food, lodging, etc.
  • The winner will pick up their tickets at the will call area at Waterloo Park.

New Seattle Reunion Show Photos

I know I said that I'd be at the Fun Fun Fun Fest no matter what, BUT it's just too much dough after I priced out the airfare, hotel, food, and tickets. My wife wasn't having it either (and since I like sex, well you know the story...pussy whaa?). I will not be venturing to that little jewel of a blue city in the middle of a red red state. Ya'll know the deal. If you're going to the show and if you're feeling sinister generous, please do share your photos, video, and/or audio. Remember kids, sharing is caring.

Speaking of sharing, I just put up some more FANTASTIC photos of the band's reunion show at the Showbox. Go to the PHOTO section and check 'em out. Thanks to Alex Crick for the great shots. Poor Alex parked himself in the front row, but I'm sure the pictures were worth the bruises, sweat, and bad body odor.

I'll also be reanimating some of the dead links around here in the next week or so. I know, I know, exciting shit planned here at MCD.net.

This Ain't No Fucking Comeback

So as I type this I'm watching the "The End" DVD and I'm still amazed of how great of a live band the Devils were. Some of the best shows in my life have been at MCD shows.

Well, here's your chance to experience it again. The Devils will be playing another reunion gig at the Fun Fun Fun Fest on Nov. 3rd and 4th in Austin TX.

I missed the Seattle shows and even though being a daddy is exhausting, I'm going to go to this show no matter what. Even if that means selling my ass (and mouth) to every trucker from here to Austin fucking texass.

I hope to see some of you there. In other news...well, there ain't any other news. I have been sitting on some great photos of the band's last reunion show. I'll post those this week.

Oh yeah... I'm getting rid of some old punk and hardcore (circa 95-00) t-shirts and posters. If you live in the L.A. area, drop me an email and I'll give them to you for free.

Another Murder City Christmas

Christmas is just around the corner and I thought I'd put a few gifts under the tree for you all once again. What do you get the Murder City Devils fan that has everything? How 'bout an excellent live recording of the band's second reunion gig at the Showbox in Seattle. You can go to the MEDIA section to download this gem. I hope nobody got that for you already. I would hate for you to haveta' re-gift it.

A few more photos of that aforementioned reunion show are tucked away in the PHOTOS section right next to my David Hasselhoff hugging baby Jesus xmas tree ornament.

I also updated the ARTICLES/ INTERVIEWS section with two fantastic articles from July. I guess I probably should have put those up sooner, but my baby likes to barf on my keyboard and poo in her pants (a lot).

And finally if you go to the LINKS section you'll find a brand new MCD website dedicated solely to MCD vinyl. This sleek looking website is actually done by a dude who has advanced web design skills unlike the limited (and sometimes laughable) 3rd grade html abilities of yours truly. You'll also find a link to the official MCD Myspace page.

Thanks to everyone who sent me stuff this past year and to all of you who email me obscure MCD questions. I love you! (some restrictions apply). I have absolutely nothing planned for 2007...stay tuned!

Exclusive Reunion Show Photos

For those of you (like me) who didn't go to the reunion show, check out the PHOTOS page for some exclusive photos of the band posing and playing. Consider this an appetizer for a HUGE update coming in a few weeks. Stay tuned kids...

Murder City Devils reunion show!!!

So it's official, the Murder City Devils will be playing a reunion show in Seattle on July 29. It will be at at the Capitol Hill Block Party. Below is something Gabe posted about the damn thing. For those of you lucky enough to attend, please feel free to share photos and/or video. I will definitely put it up.

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we are able to tell you that yes, we will indeed be playing a show this summer. Since the rumor started spreading a few weeks ago, we have received an amazing amount of emails full of very kind words and urgent questions. Here are the answers to some of them.

All members will be playing. This means that Dann and Nate will be playing guitar. Coady will be playing drums. Spencer will be singing. Derek will be playing bass. And yes, Leslie Hardy will be playing keyboards. A few of you seemed concerned that Merchbot 2000 might not be there, but rest assured you will be able to pay him a visit as well.

The show will be in Seattle. It will be at The Capitol Hill Block Party (http://www.capitolhillblockparty.com/). We will be closing the outdoor stage on Saturday July 29. For extra fun, you should come on Friday July 28th, and you will be able to see Big Business and Pretty Girls Make Graves.

Tickets are available online. You can go to TicketsWest (http://ticketswest.rdln.com/EventDetails.aspx?evt=47904) to purchase them. You can also buy them at Neumos if you live in Seattle. They are $10. If you buy them online, you will have to pay $2.50 per ticket service fee, and $3.50 per transaction for handling, so maybe get together with friends, to save a little bit of money purchasing a group of tickets (you can buy up to 8) at TicketsWest. This is for just the Saturday. Like we said above, why not purchase a ticket for Friday and make a weekend out of it.

We are looking for a place to have an after party because Merchbot 2000 really wants to spin records while the rest of us drink. So we should have details on that soon as well. There will also be additional bands playing the other two stages after our set, which should be worth checking out.

If you are flying in from out of town, that is great. There are several hotels very near the event, and we are trying to figure out if the event has a deal at any hotels, so you can save a little bit of money.

For more details regarding the event and our plans, please feel free to check out http://murdercitydevils.hellboundmanagement.com or the myspace page at http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=60766872.

Thanks for all the great feedback, we are looking forward to the show, it's going to be a blast.

A Murder City Christmas

So Xmas is just around the corner and I'm in a giving kind of mood. I have something for the entire family this year. How about some new MCD photos for the photographer in the family. You can find those on the Photo Page (these come courtesy of Joseph Micheal Elam).

And for all you gossip hounds out there, I made a few corrections to The Rumor Mill section. The last thing I would want is anybody spreading false rumors during the holiday season. Let's keep it clean kids!

For the music geek in the family, how 'bout a fantastic Xmas MP3 Mix over at The Black Angel's Death Song which includes The Devil's own heart warming"364 Days" and the original "Dead by Xmas" by Hanoi Rocks (MCD covered that song on their Xmas Bonus 7").

Before I go, I just wanna say that Xmas is about being with the family and catching up on lost times. So I thought I'd update the Past & Current Bands section and let you all know what Gabe "the roadie" Kerbrat is up to.

I hope this makes for a swell Christmas or whatever the fuck you do or don't celebrate. I have some surprises up my sleeves for 2006 so don't be a stranger.

I also plan on updating the Rumor Mill and Past & Current Bands sections in a few days, so keep it in your pants.

Exclusive MCD Television Interview!!!

Hello ladies and germs! I just put up an exclusive Murder City Devils TV interview that they did for All Ages Show back in 2001. Thanks goes out to producer Matthew Korb for making this possible. Check it out at the Media page.

It's been awhile since I've updated this site, but I'm still working on the Articles/ Interview section and hope to have it up in a few weeks. Thanks to everyone from across the U.S. and the entire world who have been stopping by. I hope you all are diggin' the site.

Murdercitydevils.net is Born!!

The site is finally done with the exception of a few pages. Once I'm finished completely I don't plan on updating the site too often. I wanted murdercitydevils.net to be as self-sufficient as possible. I don't have any connection to the band whatsoever. Just a fan with too much time to kill at work. Enjoy.
